What is Microblading?

Microblading is a relatively new method of semi permanent makeup which creates natural looking brows instantly by etching hair strokes into the epidermis layer of the skin and implanting coloured pigment into the hair strokes. The skin then heal leaving the pigment looking like an actual eyebrow hair creating fuller looking, close to perfectly shaped brows.

What is the difference between a normal eyebrow tattoo and Microblading?

The traditional eyebrow tattooing method uses a machine with a single needle to create either a block brow effect or individual brow hairs. The machine effect is great for block coverage but does not look as natural as microblading. Microblading does not use a machine and needle.

A manual microblading pen is used with a disposable blade, made up of 12-18 tiny needles and etched in the epidermis layer of skin. This allows the technician to create much finer hair strokes than what is created using a machine.

How long will Microblading last?

Microblading can last up to 12 months before fading back to just your natural brows. The pigment can stay in the skin for longer giving you a faded look.

 

 

How do I book in?

Booking your appointment is very easy. All you need to do is call Gayatri Beauty Clinic on 07984888058 and we will arrange your consultation appointment to suit you. At your appointment, we do a skin test and you will be asked to fill in a form which should help determine whether or not the treatment is suitable for you to have. We will require a payment* for the booking to be confirmed at this stage.

Eyebrow maintenance:

Regular maintenance on your eyebrows will be required to keep your eyebrows looking their best. We highly recommend following correct aftercare advice to retain the colour. Microblading will be required between 9-12 months

What’s happens during the brow treatment?

We will agree on the shape and pigment colour you wish to achieve. We will ask you to apply a numbing cream on the brow area using a topical numbing agent called EMLA (you would need to purchase that from the local chemist) which takes around 10-15 minutes to take effect. We will then proceed with microblading the area and implanting the pigment which generally takes around 25-30 minutes. We will advise you of the aftercare and go through any questions you may have before finishing the appointment. Appointment time - Approximately 2 hours

At top up appointment, (4-6 weeks after initial treatment) we will assess your healed brows, determine whether or not you need to go a shade darker with the pigment and re-numb the brow area. We will then go over the faded areas and fill in any major gaps that have occurred when healing. Appointment time - 1 hour In some cases, a 3rd treatment is needed to go over stubborn areas. A small fee of £50 will be required. Appointment time – 1 hour

What colour should I choose?

There are a variety of colours to choose from ranging from brown for blonde/fair haired clients, chocolate brown for brunettes and warm black for clients who want dark bold brows. Remember the pigment will fade between 30-50% lighter after 7 days of having your treatment.

Can you see the results straight away?

Immediately after the treatment, your brows will look 30-50% darker in colour than the final effect which will be visible around 2-4 weeks after the treatment has happened. We don’t recommend you make social plans straight after the treatment has been performed. You may experience some mild swelling and redness immediately after the procedure and that should disappear within a few hours.

 

 

Do I need a top up?

90% of all microblading clients will need a top up 4 - 6 weeks after the first treatment. This usually takes about an hour and the hair strokes are re-drawn over the healed areas and any gaps are filled in where the pigment has migrated under the skin or fallen out during the healing process. In some cases, a third top up is required at a small cost. With all SPMU treatments the results can never be 100% guaranteed that they will be suitable for everyone.

 

 

Does Microblading work on everyone?

Microblading is suitable for most people's skin types with the odd exception who have particularly oily skin or large open pores. With oily skin the pigment does not stay and has a tendency to disappear very quickly.

As with all tattoos, whether SPMU or body tattoos, hot sunshine and sun beds will encourage the pigment to fade much more quickly. It is not advised you go on holiday or on sun beds within the first 4 weeks of having your treatment.
